Has your tea ever tasted flat, bitter, or like it’s all chemicals?
You can combine the best quality tea leaves with water that’s boiled to the perfect temperature, but if you’re not using the right kind of water, there’s a big chance your tea won’t taste the best… in fact, it could taste awful!
Good tea begins with good water.
But isn’t water just… tasteless? Quite the opposite!
If you taste water from different sources you’ll notice that there are variations in both texture and taste. Some water has a “plastic” flavour to it, while other kinds of water taste “clean”. Some water can feel thick in the mouth, while other kinds seem to glide effortlessly.
In a perfect world, the ideal water for your tea is the spring water closest to where the tea was grown. Wouldn’t that be amazing!
Fortunately, you can still have a super tasty cup of tea by taking the following into consideration:
Filtered water is excellent for brewing tea. Depending on the quality and type of minerals and chemicals in your water, a filtration system might be more than enough, or you might want to use a more elaborate setup like an under-counter reverse osmosis filtration system.
Filtering your tap water is very convenient and cost-effective as it removes the unwanted chemicals which adversely affect the flavour of your tea.
Whether you choose to heat your water to the desired temperature before brewing your tea or boil the water first before letting it cool to the desired temperature; there’s no right/wrong here, it’s well worth knowing that different types of teas diffuse their flavours best when water is at different temperatures.
White and green teas = between 76 and 85 degrees Celsius.
Black and herbal teas = between 97 and 100 degrees Celsius.
Cooling time is very important. While strong black teas work well with water close to boiling point, green and herbal teas require more cooling time. Let the water rest for a couple of minutes to avoid burning the tea leaves… Patience is key!
A combination of the right tea-ware, filtered water and high-quality tea leaves can make for a delightful experience!

5 tips on How to Stay Hydrated During Ramadan
Water is always the best beverage to replenish your thirst, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.
But how can we ensure that we consume an adequate amount of water once we break our fast?
Firstly, here’s why drinking water is very important.
Water makes up 60-70% of our bodies! And any reduction in our water intake can affect our bodies’ cells and nerves.
In fact, dehydration can cause undesirable side effects like constipation, headache, dizziness, fatigue and dry skin. Severe cases of dehydration can cause more serious complications, too – like kidney problems and seizures.
Therefore, making sure you drink at least eight glasses of water a day after iftar, especially if you exercise while fasting is super important.
Why is water a more preferable beverage to consume, over other popular Ramadan drinks?
Tips on staying hydrated during Ramadan
To help you stay hydrated during the Holy Month and also help you control your thirst, here are some tips for you:
One more thing – drinking very cold water once you break your fast can cause your blood vessels to contract, which leads to indigestion.
For this reason, it is recommended that you drink water at room temperature or slightly chilled in small quantities throughout the night.
In addition to all the facts and tips above, make this Ramadan the time for positive change in your home. Install a water filtration system to have access to clean and pure drinking water and cut down on your plastic consumption to save our beloved Earth.
Permatech can help you choose the best filtration and purification system to suit your needs. Drop us a message for immediate assistance or book your FREE on-site water test TODAY!

Three reasons Filtered Water is the best beverage for your teeth
1. Keeps your mouth clean
Sugar loaded beverages leave unwanted sugar behind on your teeth creating a perfect environment for bacteria, and produce acid that erode away the outer shell of your teeth; the enamel
#FilteredWater, on the other hand, can help clean your mouth, wash away residue and dilute the acids produced by the cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth.
You’ll still need to brush twice a day with toothpaste, clean between your teeth and go for your regular dental checkups, however, drinking filtered water throughout the day will go a long way toward protecting your smile
2. Fights dry mouth
Dry mouth may put you at risk for tooth decay. Drinking water keeps saliva which washes away leftover food and helps you swallow with ease.
3. Contains Zero-calories
Unlike Sweetened drinks, water doesn’t contain sugar or calories that puts your teeth at the risk for cavities and other unhealthy consequences. On the contrary, it is essential to our bodies’ energy and wellbeing.
Take care of your body and smile by choosing to #DrinkFilteredWater.

What to Look for in a Water Filtration System
You do not need the most expensive and complex system to enjoy healthy water.
However, there are important factors to look for in a Water Filtration System that will also help you know which type suits you best.
Here’s our list:
1. Removal of Contamination
The primary reason to install a water filtration system is to get rid of the contaminants and impurities that may be present in tap water.
Different types of filters can expel certain types of impurities/ chemicals. Therefore, selecting the correct filtration system is crucial.
For example: Activated Carbon filters can expel organic compounds and chlorine from water; however, Reverse Osmosis or UV filter systems are required to remove nitrates, sulfates, and heavy metals.
2. Filtration Rate
The filtration rate is the amount of filtered water a filter can produce each day. So, if your daily water consumption outweighs the maximum gallons of water produced by your filter, the filter is not the right one for you.
It is essential to get one that meets or slightly exceeds your usage but not produce far more water than you actually consume… Those filters are obviously more expensive.
3. Quality of water
Your filter should not just remove contaminants but must also improve the overall quality of your water, that includes getting rid of foul taste and smell, as well as maintaining proper pH balance.
A Reverse osmosis filtration system may be necessary in some cases, but not always. While RO systems remove several impurities, they also expel minerals that are healthy. If your feed water requires an RO system, you may choose to install a Remineralization Element after the filtration process to add healthy minerals to the filtered water.
Alternatively, Active Carbon filters that preserve minerals might be all you need to remove the type of contaminants your feed water contains.
Water filter cartridges will need to be replaced. And it is very important that the filters are always replaced in time.
Depending on their types, water filters have different maintenance requirements. For example: A 6 stage Reverse Osmosis Filtration system may require changing several cartridges at different intervals.
Our Permatech Filtration systems come with an AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) option where we monitor your cartridges’ replacements schedule and book the appointments accordingly.
Selecting a water filtration system can be an overwhelming task with all the different options available in the market; therefore, it is very important that you determine the type of contaminants your feed water has and the daily water intake of your household as well as choose a trustworthy provider who will recommend the system that is right for you.
Tips to Stay Hydrated While Working from Home
Work-at-home has become more and more common, in light of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Switching from a structured office environment to the comfort of your own home can make maintaining some of your healthy habits a bit more challenging. Hours may pass before you remember to rehydrate.
Incorporating simple changes into your daily routine can increase your water intake to maintain your body fluid balance, which is believed to aid in reducing the risks of certain diseases and infections and keep your cells happy and healthy while working remotely.
Check out the tips below to make sure you stay hydrated while working from home:
1. Set a Goal
Each body requires a different amount of water to thrive. Calculate the right amount of water your body needs. There are plenty of calculators online that can help you figure it out.
Here’s one simple equation we go by:
Weight in kgs divided by 30 = The number of litres of water/day
For example, if you weigh 60 kg, then you need to consume 2 litres of water per day.
However, make sure you account for the time you spend working out as you’ll need more H2O to compensate for the water your body loses through perspiration. Add 350 ml minimum for every half an hour of exercise.
2. Keep a water bottle by your side throughout the day
Fill up your reusable water bottle and take it with you wherever you go. Keep it on your coffee table, leave it on your desk. You’re more likely to stay hydrated when water is at your fingertips.
3. Set alarms
One cool thing about being at home all day is that you’re never too far from the fridge. Set an alarm to remind yourself to take a few sips every couple of hours. This will give you a chance to fill your water bottle, stretch your legs, and give your eyes a break from the screen.
4. Avoid “dehydrating” food and beverages
It’s a fact: certain drinks and foods can dehydrate your cells.
Coffee, alcohol, and salty foods all have dehydrating effects. It is fine to consume these substances in moderation; however, make sure to rehydrate afterwards.
5. Upgrade your water flavour
Turn an obligation into a refreshing break by squeezing a little fruit juice in your filtered water. Add berries or a few slices of cucumbers, lemon or lime. This can help make your water taste better, so you’ll drink more of it.
6. Consume Hydrating (Water-Rich) Food and Drinks
Have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast or snack on slices of watermelon or a cucumber salad. Cucumbers contain over 90% water and oats absorb the water or milk they’re cooked with.
Refreshing yogurt + fruit smoothies are a tasty and nutritious way to stay hydrated.
Throw water-filled fruits like watermelons and strawberries into a popsicle mold for sweet and hydrating fruit popsicles.
7. Drink your Milk
Milk is filled with protein, carbohydrates, calcium, and electrolytes to help keep you energized, and is a very refreshing beverage for your body and cells.
And, while you ensure you are well hydrated, this is a chance to choose the best water quality and reduce plastic waste.
Installing a water filtration system at home gives you continuous access to pure drinking water.
No more disposable or refilled plastic water bottles!
If you or your household members have been experiencing strange reoccurring episodes of disruptive skin conditions, there’s probably something lurking in your home that’s causing those issues. You may have tried changing soap brands, laundry detergent, or using lotion more often, but the skin problems keep coming back. What the heck is going on?
Most people don’t realize that skin irritations can come from unexpected sources – apart from the usual skin infections, immune system disorders, bathing soaps, shower gels, heat, medications, allergens, etc.
Water containing certain harmful contaminants like iron, chlorine, bacteria, and arsenic, can wreak havoc on sensitive or already vulnerable skin, causing serious skin problems to crop up again because you can’t find the root of the problem.
Below are some of the contaminants. We’ll briefly explain how each one may affect your skin.
The skin acts as a remarkable protective barrier against bacterial infections. But sadly, even the skin itself becomes infected sometimes.
When bacteria come into contact with your skin, they are usually unable to create an infection. But when an infection does occur, it normally begins as small, red bumps that slowly increase in size. Some of these infections are mild and easy to treat with topical antibiotics, but other infections can be severe and require oral antibiotics.
Some common symptoms of bacterial infection include tenderness of the skin and rashes. You may also experience other symptoms like itching and pain. On the other hand, symptoms of a more severe infection include blisters, pus, skin slouching or breakdown, skin that becomes discolored and painful, and others.
Bacterial skin infections develop when bacteria enter the skin through hair follicles or through small breakages in the skin that result from animal or insect bites, scrapes, surgery, sunburns, burns, wounds, or preexisting skin conditions.
Chlorine is no stranger to our drinking water. You know, that potent disinfectant that helps keep our tap water “safe and clean”? In all honesty, chlorine is one of the most effective products for disinfecting water, but when it comes on to its interaction with the skin…that’s a whole different story.
Chlorine is said to strip away natural oils from the skin, which promotes premature aging. On top of that, it does not distinguish between good and bad bacteria, and thus, washing your skin with chlorinated water may eliminate skin flora, which can lead to skin conditions such as acne. Long-term exposure to this chemical can also cause skin irritations and itching.
You’ve probably seen or heard the term “hard water” before. Perhaps you’ve heard it on the news or seen it somewhere on the internet. Either way, hard water is simply water that contains elevated levels of dissolved calcium and magnesium.
The issue is that these minerals are vital for the body, but not so good for the skin in high doses. Bathing or showering in hard water can cause dry skin and redness. Put simply, when the calcium settles on your skin, it changes your oil chemistry, which hinders the skin’s ability to moisturize itself. Even after using the most expensive soaps or shower gels, the hardness minerals can combine with the products to clog pores and leave your skin feeling dry and sticky from the soap residue. The clogged pores can then lead to acne breakouts, inflammation, eczema, pimples, rashes, itching, blemishes, and a host of other skin conditions.
If you already have a skin disorder like eczema, or sensitive skin, using hard water on your skin can make the condition much worse and even lead to other abnormalities.
You’ve probably heard the saying “Prevention is better than cure.” So, if you want to avoid all the horrific symptoms we mentioned earlier, it’s wise to prevent certain contaminants from entering your home in the first place. The best way to achieve this is to purchase a quality whole house water filter system from Permatech Water FIltration System.

Why You Need to Install a Water Filtration System in the time of the Coronavirus Pandemic (Covid-19)
When people stock up on essentials, one of the first things to sell out is bottled water. Install a high-quality water filter and make sure you don’t run out of drinking water.
At the end of 2019, a new Coronavirus was discovered leading to COVID-19 disease. Since then, hundreds of thousands of cases have been confirmed around the globe.
All around the world, it has been clearly advised to stay home and make sure you have your essentials for at least 2 weeks.
While toilet paper may fall under the “essentials” category, luckily, it isn’t crucial for human survival. On the other hand, up to 70% of the human body is composed of water. That is fresh and clean drinking water.

Is coffee a fundamental part of your day? It’s pretty crucial to many people around the globe. The ritual of brewing, the aroma, the first hot sip and the last cool one, flavours emerging and blooming throughout the cup many of us have developed a bit of an addiction to the coffee bean and can’t start their day without that perfect tasting cup.
Coffee making is no simple matter, World Coffee Events are held yearly to … World Barista Champion. Making a good cup of coffee is a combination of science and art!
Morning caffeine hit
Whether you’re a latte or an Espresso person, prepare your coffee at home or get it at your favourite coffee shop every morning, one thing that’s often overlooked is the quality of the water used to make it.
and of course, your coffee will taste better with filtered water!
Water is a… ingredient
Water plays a very important/active role.
Espresso is 98% water and only 2% of coffee.
therefore, whichever type of beans and barista you have, the taste will always be affected by the water used.
Water is the main carrier of coffee flavours. The coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant is the solvent which extracts the flavour compounds from the seed. It has a very active role. To dissolve flavour compounds in water, the water forms chemical bonds with the seed
Tap Water vs Filtered Water
So what’s wrong with filling your coffee machine with tap water?
Firstly, regular tap water has been treated with chlorine so it usually tastes of chlorine and can smell a bit like a swimming pool change room….this, in turn, affects the taste of the coffee.
Then, there is the fact that tap water also can contain small particles of dust, rust and sediment. This not only affects the taste of the coffee but can clog up your coffee machine.
Also, tap water will include an amount of dissolved minerals and salts. Of course, the levels will depend on where you live. These minerals and salts are important for health and wellbeing and coffee to need a certain amount of minerals to maintain the flavour. But if too much calcium is in your tap water you could be faced with limescale buildup in your coffee machine which in turn could cause it to malfunction or break.
Choose Filtered Water
The best solution is filtered water.
An easy and affordable way to filter your water is by installing a Permatech Water Filtration System under your kitchen sink which attaches to a tap.
Permatech Water Filtration Systems will remove chlorine, small particles and it will help prevent limescale from building up. This, in turn, helps to protect your coffee machine.
Keeping in mind that the water filter will leave enough minerals in the water for flavour enhancement – an important part of the coffee-making process.
Different Ways to Brew Coffee
Just like making the perfect cup of tea, there are a few steps to making a great-tasting cup of coffee. We’ve put together the main steps according to the National Association of Coffee USA and it comes down to 5 things…
The Equipment – This includes the quality of the grinders, coffee makers and filters.
The Coffee Beans – This includes the origin of the beans (the country and region). The variety of the bean (Arabica, Robusta or a blend) And the roast type and blend.
The Grind – Some of these methods include: Filter, French Press, Ultimately the size of the grind affects the taste of the coffee.
The Freshness of the Grind – It’s very important to grind the coffee beans as close to the brewing time as possible.
The Water – This is the bit that we are particularly interested in…the US National Coffee Association advises using filtered or bottled water. Of course, bottled water is expensive and all those empty plastic bottles are bad for the environment. So, there’s another reason for choosing a WFA inline water filter!
The Best Water to Coffee Ratio for the Perfect Cup of Coffee
When it comes to the coffee to water ratio, there is a term commonly known as the ‘Golden Ratio’. This is 1-2 tablespoons of ground coffee to 6 ounces (175 ml) of water. Obviously, it will depend on personal taste as well.
Water temperature is important too. Just like tea, don’t over boil the water or it will spoil the taste of your coffee. According to the US National Coffee Association…
“Your brewer should maintain a water temperature between 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal extraction. Colder water will result in flat, under-extracted coffee, while water that is too hot will also cause a loss of quality in the taste of the coffee.
If you are brewing the coffee manually, let the water come to a full boil, but do not over boil. Turn off the heat source and allow the water to rest a minute before pouring it over the grounds.
Always allow your coffee – or any hot beverage – to reach a comfortable temperature before enjoying (specifically below 140 degrees Fahrenheit).”
The amount of time that the water is in contact with the coffee will depend on the type of brewing chosen. For example, a drip system would be 5 minutes but a French Press would be 2-4 minutes. In contrast, to make the perfect Espresso, the coffee bean is only in contact with the water for 10-20 seconds!
If you invest in a high-quality water filter system you can be assured that you have the right water, to begin with. Which will give you a great tasting coffee and also will help protect your coffee machine and increase its

Why you need to filter your water in UAE
With hydration being a key element to our survival, the quality and purity of the water we consume can radically influence our health and well-being.
Unfiltered tap water contains contaminants including chlorine which is necessary to disinfect the water, kill germs and prevent the spread of waterborne diseases such as Cholera and Thypoid, but isn’t so great for our bodies to be exposed to… let alone drink.
On the other hand, the list of downsides associated with bottled water; on one’s health and the environment, is very long and rather alarming at this point in time.
In addition to the chemicals that could leach into the drinking water when the plastic bottles are exposed to the sun or stored in the heat, bacterial contamination has been detected in 5-gallons re-usable bottles.
So, if you’re looking for the best option for your family, yourself and our beloved planet earth, filtered water has proven to produce potable water worthy of our trust.
Here are some reasons why you need to install a water filtration system
1. Filtered water is free of impurities and contaminants.
It’s quite indisputable that filtered water is pure and contaminant-free.
Water is filtered by passing through sequential stages of filtration and purification to remove foul taste, odour, impurities, dangerous contaminants, bacteria and even viruses while retaining healthy minerals that balance the pH of the produced drinking water.
2. Tastes and smells good:
Taste issues are immediately resolved with the installation of a water filtration system. In comparison with bottled water, filtered water tastes just as good, if not even better!
Water filtration systems include a minimum of one carbon filter aimed at enhancing taste and odour of water by eliminating the chemicals and contaminants causing them in the first place. Leaving you with fresh-tasting filtered water free of any unpleasant odour.
3. Saves you money in the long run:
While purchasing bottled water might seem cheaper, installing a water filtration system has been proven to be much more economical in the long run.
Daily household consumption of drinkable water varies from one to another. Need assistance in calculating your potential savings? Book a free water test appointment today and we’ll help you figure out the numbers based on your own needs and requirements.
4. Convenient and readily available.
Unlike bottled water which you need to purchase from a store, carry back home or arrange for its delivery, all you need to do to access your filtered water is a walk to your kitchen.
Whenever you fancy drinking clean, contaminant-free water, you can turn on the dedicated faucet and the system provides it in a few seconds. Also, you can simply choose a container of your choice; BPA-free reusable plastic bottle/ glass/ stainless steel and fill it up with this fresh and healthy water to take along with you when out and about or chill in the fridge for later.
5. Maintenance is simple.
Regardless of the type of system you install, maintenance will eventually be required, and filters need to be replaced periodically. And Proper maintenance can elongate your water filtration system lifespan to 10 years.
The type of maintenance needed, and the prices of replacement cartridges vary depending on the brand of the filtration system you install.

Why you need to filter your water in UAE
3 Risks of Not Using a Shower Filter
Filtering shower water is one simple and relatively inexpensive step that can make a big difference in reducing chlorine and other chemical exposure in the home.
Some people seem to be much more sensitive to chlorine and notice the effects more readily, but these chemicals affect all of us on a cellular level. Using a simple shower filter or bath de-chlorinator is an easy way to remove chlorine and other harmful chemicals in bath and shower water.
Here are 3 risks of not using a shower filter!
Are Filtered Shower Heads and Shower Filters necessary in Dubai?
We all know that staying hydrated and drinking filtered water is very important for our health. However, have you ever thought about the quality of the water you shower in? and how it can affect your well-being?
In fact, showering in unfiltered, chlorinated water can be more harmful than drinking it. That is because more chlorine enters your body via inhalation while showering than through drinking.
Unfiltered shower water can contain an array of contaminants like chlorine, bacteria and minerals, in addition to fungus and millions of microorganisms that pile up inside unfiltered showerheads.
No shower head or shower filter can completely remove chloramine from your water, however, using a filtered shower head and pairing it with a shower filter from a reputable manufacturer can be very beneficial and truly worth it.
Here are 5 reasons to filter your shower water:
1. Your skin will love it
Have you ever gotten out of the shower feeling a strong need to moisturize? Well, you can blame it on the hard water running out of your unfiltered showerhead. Unfiltered chlorinated water strips our skin from its moisture and the helpful bacteria that are on our bodies. Our bodies then “literally” absorb the chlorine and chemical contaminants, making our skin feel dry and scaly with residue.
Using filtered shower head and shower filter would remove chlorine and other chemicals from the water, making it much less harsh and leaving our skin feeling significantly softer.
2. Your hair will thank you
Dry, frizzy, and unhealthy hair? Unfiltered water is most probably the reason.
In addition to chlorine stripping out the natural oils, unfiltered shower water contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, silica, and iron which block out moisture and leave a residue. This is likely to make your hair feel dry and frizzy, and your scalp scaly and irritated.
Filtering out the chlorine and minerals with a filtered Showerhead and Shower Filter can restore your hair’s natural shine, tame frizz and soften its texture.
3. Cleaner indoor air.
Indoor air pollution is a reality. Our homes already have chemical pollutants; from laundry detergent, scented candles, building materials to even some food. In fact, unfiltered shower water tops the list of indoor pollution sources.
As hot shower water vaporizes, chlorine interacts with other substances in water and the air to form harmful byproducts like trihalomethanes (THMs) such as chloroform, which are then released into the air. Warm air opens the lungs, which makes avoiding the inhalation of these chemicals nearly impossible.
In many cities, municipal water is disinfected using chloramine; which is chlorine plus ammonia. This substance releases ammonia into the air when vaporized, making it even a more dangerous disinfectant. When you shower in this water, your body literally absorbs all these toxins, which in turn find their way to your bloodstream.
Chlorine absorption and inhalation can cause fatigue, depression and even lower your body’s immunity. Reducing our exposure to these toxins is important to our health, and a shower filter can be an effective and affordable step to start with.
4. Helps Prevent Diseases: like allergies, asthma and even cancer.
Bathing in chlorinated, unfiltered water has been proven to worsen sensitive skin conditions, such as eczema. It is believed that hard water could even be a reason behind developing such skin conditions.
Asthma among children and adults has increased over the years. Studies state that poor indoor air quality due to synthetic chemicals, including vaporized shower water, maybe a significant cause. Who would have thought that giving your child a hot bath with unfiltered water could cause inflammation of the sinus linings and even have dangerous effects on their developmental health.
Chemical contaminants dissolved in unfiltered shower water subject users to a higher risk of bladder, kidney, and rectal cancers as well as other health problems. Recent studies state that women with breast cancer have had high levels of chlorination byproducts in their breast tissue.
5. Important for pregnant women
Considering the health hazards associated with the exposure to toxins from the use of unfiltered shower water, shower filters and filtered showerheads become a vital addition to a household, in order to protect the mother’s health as well as her unborn child.

Why is it important for women to stay hydrated in Dubai?
We all know that water is one important nutrient that is very crucial for our short and long-term health.
Understanding our bodies’ need for hydration and its effect on our daily performance; especially in a city of hot climate like Dubai, can motivate us to top our fluid intake with premium quality water.
Here are some reasons why women should drink plenty of water:
1- Beautiful and glowing skin
Women have very tender skin, much more tender than men.
Essentially, drinking water clears the large intestine, which makes it easier for the body to absorb nutrients that benefit our skin. It also stimulates the production of new cells (blood and muscle cells) and removes toxins from the blood, leaving us with clean and healthy skin.
One more fact is that the lymphatic system is composed of 95% of water and needs to be hydrated to function at its optimum level. Consequently, it would balance our body fluids and fight infections. This can be very important in the prevention of cancer as well as skin infections; such as eczema and even acne.
2- To maintain a healthy weight loss
Drinking water first thing in the morning has been proven to speed up metabolism and resting energy expenditure (REE), which is the number of calories you burn during a non-active period.
Not only does this 0% calorie beverage help burn more calories, but it may even suppress one’s appetite when consumed before meals. The benefits are even greater when you replace sugar-sweetened beverages with water, which further reduces your calorie intake
3- Prevention of many Diseases
Water is truly an amazing substance.
– It helps the body absorb nutrients
– helps to get rid of waste products through urine and sweat,
– It protects our body tissues and spinal cord, and keeps our joints cushioned,
– It helps avoid painful bloating during menstruation
– It helps maintain a proper body temperature
– And, it keeps the blood volume high, which is essential to maintain and regulate the cardiovascular system and to supply oxygen and nutrients to other major organs
That’s to name a few of the numerous benefits of drinking water. In fact, many studies state that women who consume more fluids are less likely to develop many diseases such as chronic kidney disease, UTI (Urinary Tract Infections) and cancer.
Keeping in mind that the female physiology shifts with the monthly changes in the levels of estrogen and progesterone affect her ability to hydrate, and therefore a woman needs higher water intake to replenish.
4. More Effective and Healthy Workouts
Water is essential for good performance in the gym or when training in general.
When you are physically active you sweat and in turn lose essential fluids that ensure your body functions at its best. Losing too many fluids can lead to dehydration which may have a serious negative impact on your health.
5- While pregnant or breastfeeding
In addition to its numerous benefits, drinking water is very important for a pregnant woman as dehydration can cause contractions, which in turn can trigger preterm labour.
Breastfeeding women should also care about their water intake as breast milk is made up of about 90 percent water. Therefore, drinking plenty of this natural liquid will keep you healthy and hydrated, and also help you maintain your breast milk supply.
6- It will make you smile
Women who are properly hydrated have shown higher levels of concentration, better mood, less fatigue and headaches. Now, who wouldn’t smile at that!
Why is it important for women to stay hydrated in Dubai?
Installed at the kitchen sink:
An RO filtration system is installed at a single water connection and thus is called a point of use (POU) water filtration system. It can be installed on a wall or inside the cabinet under the kitchen sink. It can also be connected to the fridge and/or ice machine.
Reverse Osmosis is essentially a simple Water Filtration Process in which dissolved inorganic solids and impurities are removed from a solution, ie water.
This is accomplished by household water pressure pushing the tap water through a thin semi-permeable membrane with small pores that only pure water can pass through, while larger particles such as impurities and bacteria are rejected.
Nitrates & Sulfates
What about the Contaminants That Don’t Pass Through the Semi-permeable Membrane?
Ro systems incorporate 5, 6 or 7 stages including the semi-permeable RO membrane. When water from your household main line is pushed under pressure through all the stages, the impurities are filtered out and flushed down the drain. Leaving clean and fresh drinkable water in the tank for your use.
What are generally the main components of a Reverse Osmosis System?
Note that although most RO systems look similar and work basically the same way, they differ in the QUALITY of their components.
7. Flow Restrictor: Located in the Ro drain tubing; the main purpose of the flow restrictor is to regulate the flowing water in order
to maintain the flow rate required to obtain premium quality drinking water. It also helps to maintain pressure on the inlet side of the
membrane to force more water to flow into the membrane and thus get treated
8. RO Storage Tank: Treated water leaves the Osmotic membrane go into a pressurized storage tank. The standard RO storage tank holds from 2 - 4 gallons of water and has a bladder to keep the water pressurized
9. Faucet: The RO system comes with its own faucet, which is usually installed on the kitchen sink.
10.Drain line: This is a tube that runs from the outlet end of the Reverse Osmosis membrane housing down to the drain, disposing of the
wastewater containing impurities and contaminants that have been filtered out.
There Are Generally Four Stages In The Reverse Osmosis Process: There are 4 main stages in the Reverse Osmosis Process:
FIRST STAGE: SEDIMENT FILTER:
Designed to strain out sediment, silt, and dirt and has a double purpose as it not only filters out sediments but also prevents dirt from getting to the delicate RO membranes which can damage it.
SECOND STAGE: CARBON FILTER:
Designed to remove chlorine, poisonous compounds, organic/ mechanical impurities and other contaminants that affect the performance and lifespan of the RO membrane as well as improve the taste and odour of your water.
THIRD STAGE: REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE:
Designed to allow only water molecules through (0.0001 micrometers); filtering out almost any contaminants
FOURTH STAGE: POST- FILTER (ALSO KNOWN AS POLISHING FILTERS):
The final post filter (carbon filter) improves taste and odor in the water to ensures that you’ll have optimum quality drinking water.
Do you know that 7 litres of water are required to generate only a 1-litre bottle of water? And that this bottle travels thousands of miles to reach the consumer?
Buying a bottle of water is an easy drink choice, but if you read on the life journey of a bottle you’ll most probably be unpleasantly surprised!
Billions of Plastic Bottles Are Produced
Natural gas and crude oil (from petroleum) are extracted from the deep ground and then transported to a refining unit; also known as chemical processing plant, which generates PET Pellets (scientifically named as Polyethylene Terephthalate) through a complex procedure. These micro pellets are then heated, melted and then bottles are produced in all shapes and types using a blow-molding technology.
Some types of plastic bottles are designed to be soft/ flexible, whereas others are made to be tougher. Every bottle production factory requires a huge amount of energy and water to produce clear commercial bottles. Additional materials such as paper, thin plastics and ink are also required for the bottles’ labels and packaging.
In addition to the 7 litres (of water) necessary to produce a single bottle of water, the amount of water that actually ends up inside the bottle has had to travel for a long journey from its natural origin. This may include ship or truck carriers, which emits toxic carbon fumes.
Plastic Bottles Are Worldwide Champions
By the time the bottle is filled with water, labelled and placed on its shelf, it then takes off on its journey to its final destination before reaching the hand of customers, whether it’s a mini market, supermarket, café or a vending machine.
The approximate distance a bottle of water travels varies based on the brand/company you’re purchasing it from. A bottle of Fiji, for example, has a journey of thousands of miles to reach stores in the U.S or Europe—likewise. A bottle of Evian may be carried through a cargo ship from France to the opposite corner of the globe e.g Australia. Needless to say that the cost of these procedures is tremendously high, and is the reason why you end up paying100X the price of its counterpart regular tap water.
By the time you finally sip some water, the bottle you hold in your hands would have travelled through multiple spots across the globe, yet you might be surprised to know that its journey has just started.
Fortunately, a portion of plastic bottles may end up in a sorting unit, where they go through a recycling and conversion process into other types of plastic products. However, most will be dumped in a landfill and left for 450 to 1K years to decompose naturally.
If we take into account the fact that 70 billion gallons of water bottles are purchased every single year, the image of the piles of plastic is quite horrific.
So, are there any alternative choices to bottled water?
People fancy purchasing bottled water for its taste and convenience, but luckily the alternative is much more convenient, and the water quality isn’t any less, if not even better!
By installing a water filtration system at home or in your office, you can purify the composition of water without the need for perishable plastic bottles. Not only will you trim down cost but also the long-term toxic effect of using disposable plastic bottles.
Reusable plastic/ glass bottles are a healthy option you’ll enjoy, especially the ones with infusers, to add a zesty citrus taste or fruity delight.
One thing to take into account is that not all water filtration/purification systems are deemed equal. Some are bulky, require a lot of space, and don’t blend with our modern energy-savvy homes. This is the reason why we have created Permatech German Engineered Filtration and Purification Systems with compact and modern designs to save you money and time and generate a continuous supply of optimum quality, crystal clear, refreshing water that you can trust, for you and your loved ones.
